Title: Feeling defeated
Post by: Von on January 15, 2022, 06:21:54 AM
Hi everyone

I’m a mum to three precious children 15,10 & 6.
My eldest has undiagnosed BPD however she has been diagnosed with anxiety, depression and ADHD. She takes medication to assist reduce the anxiety.

She is a sad and tormented soul. She feels useless, unlovable and believes no one would miss her if she died and doesn’t feel like she adds anything of value to our family.she told me recently our family would be better off without her.

Hi-
I know how hard that is.  Does she live with you? Anything else influencing her negatively in her  daily living? Teen years are hard for healthy kids. Make sure you both have safe space to talk.  I cry every time I start talking about my kids lives ( they are adults now) with my counsellor. And then I seem to be better equipped to deal with their overwhelming problems for the rest of the week. That usually means listening , not reacting, and helping them problem solve not solving the problem. And that is hard work.
You are not alone.

Yes she lives with us.

Nothing that everyone else isn’t dealing with- COVID has been an additional challenging time for everyone.

Yes a counsellor who is safe space to talk and cry so I can build up my resources to keep listening and not react is a great idea.
