Title: How do I stop messages from going into my email
Post by: rodfish1 on August 13, 2008, 09:00:52 AM
My posts aren't going to my email but when someone here emails me, it goes to my personal email. If my wife finds out that I am on here, let's just say that it will become a VERY bad week/month. I hate that I have to hide the fact that I am getting support but she gets really angry whenever I suggest or she thinks that I'm thinking that she has a BPD or any such problem... .

Thank you  :P

Go onto your profile and go to Personal Message options - change the option regarding email to NEVER and this will stop the notifications.

be safe... .

Couple of thoughts... .

Change your email password.  It's the first line of discretion for sure.

Most "discoveries" are made by leaving the computer open or allowing someone access that can check the history or cookies... .if you use Firefox you can set it to delete all that info every time you close the computer.

Skippy

PS: Your member settings are such that you should not receive email from the site now.

Title: E-mail
Post by: mina_32 on July 30, 2010, 08:14:20 AM
Hi,

Yesterday I received an e-mail from BPD family which I quickly deleted.

He checks e-mail regularly so I do not want to receive e-mails from BPD family.

what should I do?

Please advise. Thanks.

You can adjust that setting here:

https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?action=profile;sa=pmprefs

I just set it so that you will not receive notifications or email.

I think I have my e-mail notifications set to "on" when a topic I post or reply to gets modified or replied to, but I'm not receiving notifications.

I also can't find where to click 'notify' to be able to follow a thread and get notifications when it has replies.

Thanks! :)

Hi Jenny,  *welcome*,

For boards, the Notify button is on the top or bottom right - pretty much immediately above the date of the first topic (or below the last one) listed. It's in the button list with Mark Read  |  Notify  |  New Topic .

For topics, it's in a similar location but the list reads: Reply   |  Notify  |  Mark unread  |  Send this topic  |  Print .

It may not be currently active for your account. If that's the case, let me know and we can have someone enable it.

Aha! I see it there now. I swear it wasn't there yesterday! :) Thanks a million!

I'm having the same issue, and I don't have a "Notify" button.  Just "Reply", "Mark Unread", and "Print".  ?

Hi Kittenmommy,

The notify function kicks in when you have 10+ posts. So keep posting on the main boards and then check again. Almost there!

I do not want to receive emails for any posts as they appear on my office outlook because my blackberry is connected to all emails.  How do I turn all notifications off please? Thanks!

Hi snowlove123,

there are account settings when you go to profiles where you can turn notifications off, especially the two:

  Notifications and Email

  Personal Message Options

If you want to get absolutely sure then set up a free web email account dedicated to bpdfamily.com and change the email for your snowlove123 account to it.

Looking forward having you as a member here on board  Hi!
