VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

I've been doing so good. It's been four days. He could never allow himself to come over and sleep next to me, though that's what he would always text me, wanting to do... . and I just saw this post on the anonymous site we both frequent:

"Sleeping in someone else's bed...

Wishing I was in mine with the love of my life...

#heartbreak"

Why could he not trust me enough to do that after four months of me being there and does that with someone else so easily?

It breaks my heart... . I'm crying.  :'(

Then, on the flip side, I feel pathetic for wanting to be his stand-in, when he told me I wasn't, but I knew I was. I have no love for myself.

I'm looking forward to my first therapist appointment tonight.

It's very hard.  We understand.  But I think that you do love yourself.  The above line is proof.  Stay on the board.  Let us know how it went.

We've been there.

You don't have to be alone.

Congrats on the appointment.  You've moved light years beyond where our exes are able to go with that one step.

I'm sorry that your going through this misssouthernbelle.

It's painful and seeing that post triggered feelings. No contact and not looking up ex's on social networking sites does help members with detaching.

I'm looking forward to my first therapist appointment tonight.

Therapy helped me tremendously with moving on. Good luck with your session tonight  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Thank you so much. And, you're right. That's something to be proud of.

It went well. She said I undoubtedly had a traumatic childhood. We're going to start there.

Congratulations Ms. Belle:  It takes great courage to go the therapy.  It's perhaps one way of looking at the interaction with our exes as a blessing, because it can be the final push to look at our core issues.

And I won't say that it will all be a breeze.  But for me, it has been bringing me freedom, self awareness, self love, and really the tools to live the life that I always wanted but didn't know how to attain.

Unlike with our exes, our work and pain can achieve a positive end product. That is the way of a happy life.  But with our exes, our work, pain, effort, tears, just went down the disposal only to result in more destruction.   It's the Disorder.

Stay on the board.  Share what you discuss in therapy.  It's often the start of great threads that will benefit you and others on the board as well.

Thanks for your courage.  It inspires me to continue.
