Suggested by my therapist, "Surviving a Borderline Parent" & "Stop Walking on Eggshells."  I am 70 years old and the information is answering lifelong questions.  I have wept for myself & my parents.  Grieving has begun.  Now I want to learn more.

On a visceral level, something has changed.  I no longer believe there is something wrong with me (which was the conclusion I reached when I couldn't please my mother, no matter how hard I tried).  There was something drastically wrong in the household which revolved around my mother's wants, needs, & emotional states (primarily depressed, hysterical, or venomously angry).

I am surprised & grateful to be receiving new information that fits my childhood experience.  It is affirming & validating.  Thank you for this message board.

Hi and welcome!  You are in the right place to learn and get to know others who have similar backgrounds.

The two books you mentioned are good ones to read.

Can you tell us more about your situation?  What sort of things do you want more info on and what would you say your biggest challenge is today?

A good place to start reading is to go to the top of this board and check out the tacked topics.  There is a ton of excellent information there.  also, please feel free to jump in and participate in other peoples threads.  We all help and support each other.

Again Welcome
