Hello all, from a young age my parents where never really connecting with me. Always to focused on them selfs to acknowledge my needs and emotions. From a young age I was often punished for things that I didn’t do (parents would say I was lying ) and often them being very withdraw emotionally. This was difficult because at school sure I would have friend and my teacher supported me but at home it was difficult to find a supportive person to talk to. This only got worse as I entered high school. Started abusing cannabis To help cope with the pain. Of course this made it worse and I was further discontentd from my true self. (The one before I was punished for being myself, hounest, kind, helpful, firm boundaries, desvice, funny.) of course my parents didn’t want me to have any of these traits so they trained them out of me. And I am in the process of relearning how to be myself again. My dad was apopded, so who knows how hard that must have been for him to deal with that. The healing process has begun. Thanks for listening

Dad to my wolf pack

I'm adopted too (yes, that can result in "issues" but each story is different).  What leads you to believe that him being adopted contributed to his attitude as a father? Do you still live with them, or how is your contact situation?
