VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

Hi Alessandro.  I hate to hear about your troubles.  It sounds agonizing.  I think in a way you sort of answered your own question -- it's the type of thing a lawyer would need to answer, so yes, I would say to call one.  Laws vary a lot by location and  it sounds like you need guidance from someone that can tell you the right thing to do for wherever you are.

A lawyer sounds like a good way to go. I hope you find one soon. Are you home with her or are you still at the hotel?

If this applies, it might help to develop your exit strategy. What are the things you need to get away? Money? Legal assistance? Documents? A trusted friend? A place to stay temporarily?
