Hello. I just found the BPD family Facebook page and website and am very thankful to have done so .
I have started reading some articles. Our 16 year old daughter has been assessed and has 9 of the 10 traits for BPD. Reading up on it explains so much of what's been going on the last 8 years.
We had her assessed at 11 for behavioral issues and she was diagnosed with adhd, anxiety and ODD she has been in counselling on and off since 9 .
We found out 2 years ago our daughter was sexually abused  by her girlfriend at age 8during sleepovers and again at 9 at knifepoint from a mentally challanged older female when we visited my parents at a campground. She has been in therapy ever since.   She doesn't have ODD at all it was the trauma talking. I just found a new therapist that also runs a DBT support group and specializes in trauma ptsd and DBT and my daughter is doing an intake with her this week and I am hoping it will help.
I amhoping to gain knowledge and support from those on this same journey and I am happy to be here. Thank you

Welcome Debcom7. Glad you are here and I hope you find this place as helpful and supportive as I do.

Even though your dd is just 16 you have already been on quite a long journey. That is one thing the people that come here 'get' - ie it is a long journey.

We all have different stories, but deal with many of the same things.

So that is one of the best things for me when I came here. I knew I was not alone in this chaos - others knew exactly what it was like.

I have also found some very helpful words and suggestions - and sometimes just a different way of looking at things has been just what I needed at the time.

I hope you find support here too. You are not alone.
