My wife has BPD. We have been together for 15years, married for 9 years and 3 young children. Predominantly my wife's mental health problems have manifested with eating disorders. In the last year it has become a very extreme and different experience with alcohol abuse, multiple affairs and self harm through lifestyle (most notably sabotaging her position in the family and marriage). We are living apart due to her unreliable and risky behaviours but I am not yet prepared to close the door on our marriage. I realise that it is most likely months/years, if she gets well enough, before she will be able to return home. In the meantime I have to be accepting of further chaos, hurt and disappointment. Would be fascinated to hear from anyone in a similar position or from those who have come out the other side of such a situation.
