Title: Introduction Post by: bettsie2769 on August 17, 2015, 07:19:25 PM Hello all. Recently, I have sought counseling for issues related to forming personal relationships due to issues remaining from my childhood with a BPD mother. At present, I don't know much other than I genuinely would like to stop being skittish and incapable of creating meaningful friendships with people. My counselor directed me to this site, and so far I've looked at some of the lessons and descriptions of BPD traits. What I've read so far has really caused some lights to go off for me :light: I'm looking forward to gaining knowledge to help me learn to let myself make friends and improve my relationships in general as well.

You've had a childhood with a BPD mother which can often be quite difficult and take iis toll on you. I have an (undiagnosed) BPD mother myself and have also found myself dealing with certain issues as a result of this. Having to deal with these kinds of things isn't easy, but being able to identify and acknowledge these issues is already the first step to possibly finding a solution |iiii When you consider your mother, what are the most difficult or troubling BPD behaviors she exhibited? ... .so far I've looked at some of the lessons and descriptions of BPD traits. What I've read so far has really caused some lights to go off for me :light: Could you share some of these light bulb moments with us? To what new insights have you come? What are the things that make you feel skittish? Are there any particular aspects of relationships that you feel most uncomfortable with? Take care and welcome to our online community |
