May I propose a hypothesis that children facing PAS will meet the criteria of BPD

Did your child undergo significant PA and did that result in BPD traits?

No, not at all.
My daughter was an amazing, happy, well-adjusted child with a good home life, if I do say so myself (and she will say the same). Her BPD developed in teen-hood after major bullying (ages 13-15) and an emotionally/mentally abusive relationship (age 15/16). I know the powers that be claim BPD develops because of childhood trauma, but those early teen years are extremely formative as well.

I am truly sorry to hear that, ILMBPC. I feel your pain.

Thank you. We feel lucky that we caught it early and got her into therapy right away. She's 23 now and while not "cured" she has the skills and support to manage very well

She's so fortunate that you were so proactive, rather than burying your head in the sand, as many parents of kids with BPD traits do.
