This is a question for the guys living with a disordered female.

I fully understand that any woman can get them but did anyone here experience a partner with fibroids (excessive bleeding of uterus walls due to tumors lasting weeks)?

Did anyone recognize the prevalence of the condition during times of stress in the relationship?  Is it possible that along with painting their partner black emotionally, the bleeding is their body's way of rejecting the partner too?

The mind is a powerful thing, just a thought.

Hi Tomzxz, I'm a female not a male. However, I can chime in from the female perspective, as well as someone who works in the medical device industry. I worked in women's health and am very knowledgeable about uterine fibroids.

African american women are more prone to uterine fibroids. It's believed to be heriditary and in the genes. Its estimated that 85% of African American women suffer from fibroids. Some are asymptomatic (without) symptoms, and some are symptomatic... .heavy bleeding, urinary incontinence, pelvic pain, etc. Stress can definitely cause fibroids to become symptomatic. Its blood flow to the fibroid which causes them to enlarge and become symptomatic and painful. However, the symptoms don't just go away, they are persistent until treatment is sought out.

I hope that helps you somewhat. You can also find more information on fibroids and treatment options at www.ask4UFE.com.

I don't know about fibroids but both my exs had bleeding between periods. My exgf was so concerned that she had tests done including an ultra sound but I don't know what the outcome was as we had split up. My ex wife also went through the menopause at 37.

Don't know if its BPD related or just a statistical thing.

I am currently reading the book: The Body Keeps Score  There was a piece I recall that explains that girls who have been molested often begin their menstral cycles earlier than ones who have not been molested.  The reason given is that their hormones flood their system earlier.

Early menstration is correlated to early menopause.

I wonder if it is also possible that there is a similar hormonal link to fibroids?  I do know there is a link to being more hypersensitive to pain.  Maybe as I continue my reading I'll find info on that connection.
