Hello all,
Throughout my difficulties with understanding my BPD ex's behaviour, I have stumbled across a great organization.
It's called 'Stichting Borderline'. It's an organization that employs BPD patients who volunteer to advice both other BPD-patients as well as friends, family or (former) loved ones of a BPD-patient.
The website can be found here:
https://stichtingborderline.nl/.
Their Dutch phone number is : 030 276 70 72.
I'm not sure they're accustomed to English speakers, but I know at least their national coordinator speaks English as well. If you call from abroad, the phone number would be 0031 30 276 70 72. Make sure to press '2' when confronted with their voice menu, to indicate youre close to a BPD-patient instead of suffering from BPD yourself.
They can also be reached via email, and you can ask them absolutely anything. I sent them a very long email describing my whole 9 months relation with my ex, including all the ups and downs. They responded sympathetically within 2 days with an equally long email offering advice on every turn.
By phone they can be reached on limited days, as can be viewed on the website. Mind, the people aiding you suffer from BPD as well, but are most likely at an advanced level of insight and control. Naturally try to be polite and understanding in your interaction.
I found their BPD volunteers to be extremely understanding and helpful. They ask no charge, and they are very capable of offering unique advice, often based on their own experiences. If you just want to voice frustration or sadness- theyre available for that as well.
Their head coordinator Karlijn also uses a Youtube channel for information and advice, and is often on phone duty as well. Many of her videos are also available in English:
