How do people's partners/exes with BPD handle stress? It seems to me that my ex goes radio silent, as she ghosted and blocked me a few days out from her exams (resulting in the breakup) a couple of months ago and now we've somewhat reconnected, she's non-responsive to texts - again presumably because of exams this week. Though she did answer my last call almost immediately. Is this a common theme?

Are you asking about managing your stress level when she doesn't respond, or how to manage her stress level during test taking?

Consistency is not a forte of pwBPD, simply because by nature, their emotional state is usually vulnerable.

in reading your previous posts, this is a relationship that is currently in a state of breakup, do i have that right?

is it possible you are pushing/chasing a bit much for her?

My ex was extremely sensitive to stress - as is apparently very common in BPDs.

On the other hand, I felt it was a very handy "catch-all" excuse to create distance in a passive aggressive way. As when someone "stresses out", well, you would be an *sshole to not consider their feelings and need for time off... But then again, on the other hand, who is taking YOUR stress levels into account? In my case: noone. No empathy for that.
