Hello,
My husband has abused me for many years. We are working on our marriage and  trying to stop this cycle of abuse. Is it possible for an abuser to truly change?

Hi Jules, welcome to the family.  This is an amazing site, it has had a dramatic impact on my life.  You are among friends here that have been through many of the things that you have experienced.

The simple answer to your question is yes.  But it is a very complex yes...

There are so many resources on this site that can help you, and recommendations for reading.  If you let me know a little more about your situation I can help narrow down a search for you, but this is usually a good article to read before starting your journey:
https://www.bpdfamily.com/content/what-does-it-take-be-relationship

And this might be a good thread to read to answer your question:
Can BPD be cured or go into remission?

Is there domestic violence?  If so, please consider calling a local DV hotline, it's something I wish I had done years ago.

Has your husband been diagnosed with BPD or another Personality Disorder?
