Hey WofC,  I'm glad you wrote it out.  If you re-read your post, I think you'll find it helpful in terms of clarifying where you both are in your lives.  I suggest that any decisions regarding the right path for you include a review of the Here and Now, which is really your best guide, along with your gut feelings.  I admire your honesty and find your post quite telling, so keep up the good work!  You'll figure it out, I'm sure.
