We've all been treated poorly.  Mentally, verbally and some physically abused.

Yet we still love this person who has brought joy and hate into our world.

The BPD hits bottom and asks, "Please let me try to fix this.  What can I do to make what I've done better?"

Do you tell them they will need many hours of therapy?  Do you stand by their side and watch them try to change?  Or do you tell them figure it out on their own?

Oh good question.  I had this happen.

Proof was in the pudding.  I had to look at my bottom line and what I needed.  You can ultimatum it - it cuts straight to the point though it tends to be off putting to most people.  But if its something serious, you are entitled to ask as much as they are entitled to not comply.

This is more a staying board question because you can get advice on how to measure this, what reasonable expectations are, and what boundaries to have.
