I'm a pretty easy going person, perhaps a little too laid back.

My GF just bought a pup and wants to name her after an ex GF of mine (only dated for a few weeks but she was a good friend for a couple of years).  We dated almost two years ago.  It's a really unique name.

My GF asked how I felt about it and I answered honestly.  It's a little weird to me.  I'm not opposed to it but every time you call your dog, it's going to make me think of my ex.

What do you think?

It bothers me a bit.  Not enough to really cause me pain and I can overlook it but it makes me wonder what's going on in her head.  Her rationale for choosing the name makes a tiny bit of sense.  Other people like the name (but don't know the history behind it).

Seems odd to me too... .  Not really sure what else to say. If my pwBPD did something like that, I'd probably just go along with it and actively avoid any real discussion about it, even if she prodded.
