Gift Wrapped Brain
«
on:

I resist change while knowing that I need it. Replacing habitual coping skills with new ones is tough.
This morning an image popped into my mind. I pictured my brain nestled in a fancy gift box. I perceive this image as a representation of how important caring for my brain is! My thoughts are lightening fast and habitually follow a deeply grooved, erroneous path to which my feelings involuntarily respond.
I also perceive this brain in a box image as motivation to persevere with cognitive recovery:
I really appreciate things wrapped in fancy wrapping
! I picture myself tenderly looking down into this special occasion brain box while gratefully cradling it.
The posts here reassure me that I have fellow travellers on the circuitous path to recovery from long-term interaction with BPD. : ) I am glad for your company!
Warm regards,
Diligence

I like this image, Diligence. Since your brain is wrapped up in you, it has lovely wrapping indeed.
Take care.

And I am glad for yours diligence. Slowing down thought to feeling to reaction is so needed for me too. It would save a lot of negative talk in my head.
