The children sense their parents anxiety in their voice, their body language and their parents behavior. Here are some suggestions from Dean Stacer on how to avoid conflict.

Hurray!

After almost a year on anti depressants (after break up) and several years on xanax, I was able to come off them all with my psychiatrists approval.

No more hypervigilance !  No more panic attacks!  The crying has stopped!   Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Now I just have to learn to sleep without them... .

  laelle,

That's great news!   Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)  I remember when I came off my anti-depressants; it was a big relief.  And I feel much better now overall without the medication.  I've missed talking with you.  I'm glad to hear you are doing well.  We need to catch up!

Hey Phoenix,

I am so happy that I am off of them.  I gained 5 kilo on them.    For most people this is no big deal, but with me and my past issues with weight, it was terribly depressing.

Working on taking it back off.

I miss talking with you too... .I have wondered how you were getting on, but have failed to commit to an email as of yet.  Smiling (click to insert in post)  I am truly terrible with emails.  Yes, we should catch up!

I understand about the weight gain, as I did the same thing on the medication; that can be very frustrating.  I've been able to maintain a healthy weight for years now and it feels good.

OMG !

I have just done the same thing

My body doesn't feel as sensitised and I have learned new coping skills to head off any wrong turn into anxiety

But yeah - the sleep thing is strange hey? I slept so solidly on my Avanza pills and in the 2 weeks off them, have been waking up a lot. I think pre-meds I rarely slept right through, so I am reassuring myself that it is just a return to my old sleeping patterns and nothing too alarming.

Many of my friends report rarely having a solid uninterrupted night, so I am happily back in that company.
