So tonight my partner of 19 years has left. She tells me that she can't cope with facing the misery of the past and of discussing the future (fairly recent diagnosis of my d23). I thought I was starting to sort things. I don't think she wanted to take part in validating my daughter.  This is so sad and difficult for me.  I feel I need to tell someone. What I'd really like is a hug from my daughter but I can't burden her.

Oh MissP,

I'm so sorry.

The wake of this disorder knows no limits.

Do you have a therapist helping you deal with your pain and your relationship with your daughter?  Can you talk to the therapist soon?

We are here to listen.  I wish I could reach through the computer and give you at least one hug... .

Thanks for those supportive words. I have no therapist (perhaps it's time). I have some good friends but it's the middle of the night here. :'(

Hi Missp:

Here is the next best thing to a hug, well I don't know about next best thing, but it is better than nothing.    !   I had a really hard time getting my spouse and my family, other children, to believe something more than drugs and alcohol was bothering my son.  He is 27 and was finally assessed with BPD, PTSD and OCPD  It was alot to take in.  Finally everyone believes me, how supportive they are, well that is to be seen.  My spouse is coming around and softing.  When he wasn't I felt as if I would die.

Good advice from Ibjn!   Take care of you.  Kelti
