Haven't heard from her in a month and a half. Like I have said, I am over it. If she texts me, I'll reply, no need to be a jacka$$. Tonight was a bit different though. She opened it with a text - "I am watching this commercial and it reminded me of that one thing we saw when I visited you that one time" Then we exchanged a few texts, she told me on her days off to kill time she now works part time in a store we used to go to. Then she tells me - "The next time we go together to that place, I can get us a great discount!" Um, the next time? Um, we go together? She is engaged although somehow that hasn't been brought up yet. I guess I could bring it up myself, but I don't think it's my place. It's her business. But it might be just me, but I wouldn't exchange texts like this with my ex if I were engaged. Anyway, whatever the intent, at this point I am not recyclable. Too much time has passed.

My response was to change the subject and getting ourselves updated on our cats' lives

She can text me any time she wants. I will chat with her just like I would chat with any other female I know and have no romantic interest in. She begged to be friends at the end. Cool, we are. Well, more like very very distant acquaintances that exchange a few texts from time to time. It will never be like what it was, you can't fix or undo what was done. What she said last time was borderline (no pun intended) acceptable. Now if she open text tells me "when can you come visit me?" or "when can I visit you?" or something along those lines, that's when I have no choice but to bring up her fiance and tell her that, um, thanks but no thanks.
