VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

I'm sure I'm not alone in listening to music to try to distract me. I'm 4 weeks separated.

What I feel like his perspective is:
You'll Be Back (Lin-Manuel Miranda, Hamilton)
You say the price of my love's not a price that you're willing to pay
You cry in your tea which you hurl in the sea when you see me go by
Why so sad?
Remember we made an arrangement when you went away
Now you're making me mad
Remember despite our estrangement, I'm your man

You'll be back
Soon you'll see
You'll remember you belong to me
You'll be back
Time will tell
You'll remember that I served you well

Oceans rise, empires fall
We have seen each other through it all
And when push comes to shove,
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da da dayada

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da da da

You say our love is draining and you can't go on
You'll be the one complaining when I am gone

And, no, don't change the subject
'Cause you're my favorite subject
My sweet, submissive subject
My loyal, royal subject
Forever and ever and ever and ever and ever

You'll be back
Like before
I will fight the fight and win the war
For your love
For your praise
And I'll love you till my dying days

When you're gone, I'll go mad
So don't throw away this thing we had
'Cause when push comes to shove
I will kill your friends and family to remind you of my love

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da da dayada

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da

Everybody!

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dada da da dayada

Da dada da da
Da dadada dayada
Dadada da da dayada

What I've been feeling this weekend:

I Still Miss Someone (Johnny Cash)

At my door the leaves are falling
A cold wild wind has come
Sweethearts walk by together
And I still miss someone

I go out to a party
And look for a little fun
But I find a darkened corner
because I still miss someone

Oh, no I never got over those blue eyes
I see them every where
I miss those arms that held me
When all the love was there

I wonder if (s)he's sorry
For leavin' what we'd begun
There's someone for me somewhere
And I still miss someone

Music can be very helpful. Also try to listen to some stuff that cheers you up. I'm big on listening to sad songs after a break up, but I should probably to the exact opposite: listen to a bunch of happy, upbeat songs.

I'm going to youtube to listen to the song you posted. Hang in there. It will get easier.

Thanks. Yeah sometimes it's hard to use your own words to express emotions. This helped me. But yes trying not to listen to them unless I am wanting to let myself feel that.

Here's good versions for you:
