So a few weeks ago my girlfriend with BPD broke up with me as her emotions were all over the place and "she wasn't sure if she loved me anymore". I was happy for this to happen and continue as friends.

Then on Tuesday I went to her's just as friends for dinner where she became very clingy. Hugging, getting close and cuddling up to me on the sofa, and even grabbing my backside, which is all stuff we did in our relationship.

Today she has been unhappy and ignoring my messages. What does this mean?

Hi cal25,

Sorry to hear you are getting mixed signals from your (now ex) girlfriend. Has this kind of thing happened with you before or is this a new thing for you two? A breakup as such I mean.

Have you read up much yet about pwBPD and how they can sometimes "recycle" their romantic partners?

Have you had a chance yet to check out the Lessons on the right about Understanding your role in the relationship and Understanding your partner's behavior?

Are you hoping to stay friends and remain close with this person? What's best for you at this time?

wishing you well, pearlsw.

Welcome

I want to join pearlsw in welcoming you to the boards.

Mixed signals can be hard to deal with at first. They get much easier when we stop allowing our pwBPD's emotions to dictate our lives.

What led you to believe that she has BPD?
