Now I'm out here looking like revenge
Feelin' like a ten, the best I ever been
And yeah, I know how bad it must hurt
To see me like this, but it gets worse (wait a minute)
Now you're out here looking like regret
Ain't too proud to beg, second chance you'll never get
And yeah, I know how bad it must hurt to see me like this
But it gets worse (wait a minute)
So, the above is a quote from Demi Lovato's recent hit. She has been diagnosed with a disorder, but I haven't heard of her having BPD.
But just look at the sadness of this all: this cute and shy Disney star, who didn't seem to follow Britney and remained true to herself. However, she was suffering from all kind of addictions and insecurities without anyone knowing about it. When she decided to tell the world, she sought help and she seemed to do better.
But the 'better' new and improved version seemed to be somewhat different. Quite different from the old Demi. Suddenly being all sexual and 'confident'. Resulting in the above song as the culmination of her 'healing'.
As the world thought she was doing great, she made sure everyone needed to know this as well. Partying like there was no tomorrow and singing 'Feelin' like a ten, the best I ever been (... .) I know how bad it must hurt to see me like this'.
She took an overdose (but still lives fortunately). She wasn't that happy. All this partying, all these lyrics, just masking how she truly felt. Just now it was made public that her 'team' arranged an intervention, but she sent them away. She went on partying and pretending she was doing great.
How do you guys feel after such an event? I feel really sorry for her, but I see so many similarities. Something feeling off, partying to mask true emotions, letting everyone think she is doing perfectly fine... .
I don't think my pwBPD would directly overdose, but I guess with the wrong triggers it could very well happen as well.

I feel sad for anyone battling addiction, but since we are talking about a celebrity I feel specifically sorry for Ariana Grande. I knew nothing about this person until I read about her relationship with Pete Davidson, another celebrity. He has been diagnosed with BPD. I wonder if she has been warned by any health professionals about the disorder.

we can all be "feeling like a 10", super confident - party like no tomorrow and hyper sexual on cocaine.

I hear you regarding Ariana Grande - Getoverit. I've been thinking the exact same thing. A selfish part of me thinks that when the inevitable happens and they break-up in a massive flameout, that given her high-profile celebrity status, we'll be reading a lot of articles in the mainstream press about BPD. This can only be a good thing in highlighting a little understood disorder.
Sure wish it wasn't at her expense though - I wouldn't wish BPD or a BPD relationship on anyone.
