Daughter with BPD
«

My young adult daughter has been suffering with severe BPD symptoms for the last four years (I believe she’s had symptoms most of her life). She’s been in and out of the hospital and residential treatment the last four years. Right now she is living with someone she met in one of the treatment facilities. She had chosen not to continue any form of treatment, is not working and at this point hardly talking to me. I am at a loss on what to do (if anything) at this point.

Hello
What's going on
I'd like to welcome you to bpdfamily. Most of us come here not knowing what to do and I'm glad you reached out here for support. I'm so sorry for what you've been going through with your daughter, that she's decided against any form of treatment.
What has led to her hardly talking to you? And how are you coping with this?

Welcome What's going on,
So sorry that DD isn't speaking to you. I would suggest you seek counseling for yourself & practice self-care. It's also helpful to read some books. I'm currently reading "walking on eggshells".

Hello What's.Going On, I join the others in welcoming you here and assuring you that you have come to the right place for help and support. It must be so frustrating to see your daughter suffer so much from this horrible disease along with her own bad choices. You are right. You can't change her. What you can change is you so you can experience some peace in your life and hopefully improve your relationship with your daughter
Many of us here are using the information and tools on this site to make the changes we need to make for ourselves. A great place to start would be self care. Are you doing anything in particular to take care of your own needs ?
