Hi, this is my first post. My daughter, age 33 has BPD. I've learned alot over the years and I thought I'm ok with accepting it, but I still feel so lonely. My daughter entered a treatment center (again) and my feelings are all over the place.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders

Hi and welcome.  I am so glad you are reaching out to us and decided to post.

The good news is you are not alone anymore.  This board is full of compassionate, knowledgeable and supportive parents who have been or are going through similar.

Can you tell us more about your daughter and some of what she struggles with the most?  What about you?  What sort of support, other than us, do you have?

Hi Lanah L

So glad you found us. Harri is right, you aren't alone anymore.  Welcome new member (click to insert in post)

My BPD person is my daughter in law and she tries to estrange my son and grandchildren from other people, incl. me. That makes me feel lonely sometimes. I know I have mourned losses because of it and still walk on eggshells a lot (even tho I say I won't)

I also understand feeling like your feelings are all over the place. I am not saying my experiences are identical or maybe even close to yours, just that I can empathize with your feelings you are expressing. I hear you.

I have found this place and the people here to be a great help in my situation. I hope you do too. We are all here to help each other. Welcome

Hello Lanah L I join the others in welcoming you and assuring you that you are not alone. You have come to the right place for help and support. Things really can get better. What else can you tell us about your daughter? How does her BPD manifest itself?

Welcome Lanah L,

This message board has really helped me to know that I'm not alone. Hope it can do the same for you. Reading books on BPD & seeing a therapist for myself has also helped me.
