Hello. Our 22 year old son has BPD. It all makes sense now and I wish I knew then what I know now. My attitude was, "get over it." I didn't know any better. I haven't seen or heard from him since 02/25/2021. Since the new year we were walking on eggshells whenever he was around, and didn't know when he would explode next. What had happened to our sweet boy?

Welcome. Yes it is very painful , but please don't blame yourself.  You are armed with new knowledge and you can learn more about BPD.  Use this time of estrangement to put the focus on yourself.  I, too, am estranged from my adult BPD son and it is very hard.  I would suggest learning what you can about BPD , there are suggested readings in the library.  I also go to 12 step support group for families such as co dependents anonymous.  These are on zoom, free and take place at different times.  These meetings help me when I am racked with guilt and pain.   It is very painful to see our beloved children turn into snarling, rage- filled strangers .
