My sister is a grown adult and has severe BPD. Our relationship has ended which I know is the best thing for me. I'm just still so angry and hurt. 51 years of her abuse and my parents acceptance of her behavior. I need healing. I need to mentally move on. Any help, suggestions, books to read?

Hey, sorry I don't have any advice but I thought it be nice to talk to someone in a similar situation. My brother is verbally abusive towards me and my mom. She lives with him, and while she is frustrated she allows it to continue and refuses any help I offer her.  I have tried to convince her to move out and sell that house but she won't.  I haven't officially cut ties with my brother yet but we speak very little these days.  Any time he contacts me he is accusing me of things I didn't do.   It truly sucks being related to someone like this. Hope you are holding up okay.

Hi ahart1972.

Welcome.  I'm sorry you are going through all this.  It's so hard.

A book a lot of us start with is Stop Walking on Eggshells.  It's a great place to start, and very validating.  Have you already discovered that one?

As for healing, "space" from your sister will help, and not getting sucked into her drama. Also doing things to take care of yourself.  Do you have access to counselling support?  A lot of us here have found that helpful - but it's most helpful if it is a T who actually has experience with "BPD".
