VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

Pretty sure that my significant other (on & off) has BPD.  The more I read, the more I think he is the poster child for this.  I love him tremendously, and we have a gorgeous son.  I am trying to figure out how to help him for our son's sake.  I may have allowed myself to be in this situation, but am trying to better this for my son's sake!

My SO can't seem to hold down a job, is in & out of jail and has had a heroine addiction.  I have been with him through rehab, and all of it.  Rehab didn't seem to work at all for him, so I am hoping that I can find resources soon that will truly help him.  Unfortunately, he has no insurance.  :-/

Love the info I have found on this site so far already!

Thanks!

You can't help people who are disordered, they have to want it themselves. No amount of love will change them but you could quite possibly lose yourself tyring.  You can't change him you can only protect yourself and your son. There are so many great resources here and the people are amazing, hope you find what you need.

clemsonbluebelle,  Welcome

I'm glad you found us!

Dealing with a pwBPD (person with BPD) is hard enough, and a substance addiction adds a whole other level of complication. What is your living situation right now? Ate you living with him and your son, or are you in seperate households?
