My ex will not give my cat back to me. Like I said in my previous posts he said he would only do it for sexual favors.

I'm not going to play into that cycle again. Does anyone know, or have experience with getting things back from a BPD?

I really don't want this to turn into a huge conflict. He lives 2 hours away and I offered gas money for his trip too if that was an issue ( he is usually low on funds )

But he only replies with " sex " I feel like he using the cat to tie me to him and I just want out of this mess and my cat home.

Any advice?

Hi BlackAndBlue22,

That sounds terrible that he won't give you your cat back unless he gets sexual favors. It's your beloved pet and from my personal experience is that if my ex partner knew there was something that was personal that I wanted or needed she was emotionally immature and withholds.

I think it may help with not showing how much you care by asking him that you want your pet back. Have you asked him several times?

Can you arrange a way to get your cat with a family member or friend with you so he doesn't have you cornered? He may think twice about putting his bad behaviors on display. Do you know when he's home and perhaps drop by when he is.
