I need help with my relationship with my son and his wife who I believe has BPD. Specifically the guilt and shame that it has caused and the hurt that it has caused not only myself but the rest of my family.

Hi nanib and welcome to  bpdfamily

BPD is quite a challenging disorder so I am glad you are reaching out for support and advice. Shame and guilt are things many of our members struggle with.

Could you perhaps tell us a bit more about your son's wife? What are her behaviors that lead you to believe she has BPD?

You mention the hurt that it has caused you and the rest of your family. I am sorry you've had these painful experiences. In what ways have you and your family been hurt by this situation?

Hi, nanib. I just wanted to add my welcome!

BPD does cause pain for the entire family. We're more than happy to help where we can. When you're ready, could you tell us a little more about your situation?

Wishing you peace,

PF
