I agree with jambley.  Alternatively it might be time to widen your social circle to include people with other interests.  One thing I picked up from all my delving into personal growth that came up time and time again is when you want to grow and advance as an individual you must surround yourself with people you aspire to be like.  Those who can lift you up.  I'm not suggesting your friends aren't those people, however if you have something you desire to change and they're not prepared to accommodate that, then are they really putting your best interests on the same level as their own desires?  Food for thought.

Good to read that your still not drinking, it such a hedious sickness. When I go to bed I thank god every night for my sober day, my health and s10's health.
  In 10 years I only ever wanted to drink 2 times, I prayed for strength and broke it down into minuets, all I have to do is stay sober today not for the rest of my life so when it got rough I told myself ok busboy all you have to do is stay sober for the next hour or next 10 minuets.
