Hi all

I have a daughter almost 34 years old.  She is finally out on her own, in her own apartment, struggling to be independent.
She lived with my husband and I for many years.   I have worried about her all of her life.  Now that she is out, only a few months, she has left some things here at the house that she said she would have to come back for.  She treated me poorly several times recently and my husband let her know that I am his wife, her Mother, and that I didn't deserve the treatment.  Basically she wrote a few sentences and we have not heard from her since.  Many times even while she lived with us, I wondered if she would be returning.  She always did.  She came over once recently letting herself in, without calling and we had asked her to call us before coming.  It's time for our privacy to be respected.  I guess I could use support and help in letting to worry go.  I have to deal with the fact that one day, she may decide not to contact us anymore.  We have tried, given it all that we have... .but she is difficult.  Her siblings stopped interacting with her long ago because they could not get along with her.  They get along with each other and all of us are close.  No one but me struggles with letting this go.  Hope to hear from you guys.  Thanks.

Hi SeaShells#2

Welcome to bpdfamily   I'm glad you've joined us for support, and sorry what you are dealing with, you are not alone, many parents are in similar situations to you.

I understand your worry, you're struggling, that one day your daughter may decide to not make contact anymore, she's often disappeared from time to time and returned while living at home.

Does she threaten she's going to disappear and not contact you anymore?

Keep posting SS, it really does help us work through our situations.
