Ex got engaged...

Got a call from my ex Friday night, saying "you love me no matter what right?" Then follows with, "I was proposed too, I have a rock on my finger." Hit me like a ton of bricks. I am happy for her, but it does hurt. I just received a belated birthday card from her today. She probably sent it before she got engaged... .so I'm back to feeling the dichotomy of missing being with her terribly, and being able to breathe again. Keep moving and find my center is what I keep telling myself.

I love the pre-empted, “You love me no matter what, right?”
And therin lies the hook. She wants to know she still has you wrapped around her finger... .just like that rock.
Let me ask you this, when was the last time you spoke to her prior to this announcement? Are you in LC with her?

Mine got engaged while she was with me after begging me to trust her and give her another chance. I only found out months after I discovered she had been seeing someone else.
The behaviour of these people is psychotic when in another relationship. Why would she call you to tell you this in such a fashion? Each pwBPD is different, how they demonstrate their fear of abandonment is different I think. She is making sure you are there and are hurt, they love that control.
I know how much this hurts, I’m hurting so much still. Mine married only six months after discarding me and cheating on her fiancée. They had been together less than three months when he proposed. They are both crazy. You do not deserve it
