My uBPDw suggested this to me last night: https://couplestherapyinc.com/  It is a private marriage intensive.  I started going through the website.  It starts with a robust questionnaire to determine the type of therapy needed.  The website seemed to address abuse in relationships (https://couplestherapyinc.com/emotional-abuse-and-marital-conflict/) and BPD (https://couplestherapyinc.com/borderline-personality-disorder-marital-conflict/ , https://couplestherapyinc.com/borderlines-in-couples-therapy/) and how typical marriage counseling can be ineffective or make things worse.  It actually started to give me hope.

I'm just curious if anyone else had experience with something like this?

Their site suggests a strong scientific foundation for their therapy and a good understanding of BPD issues. They also sound really expensive, but since marriage counseling with BPD is so often ineffective, it's better to spend the money on a firm that will maximize the chance of success. (This is my long-winded way of saying that if I was in the market for counseling to save my BPD marriage, I would pick this one.)

That's sort of what I was thinking.  As of right now, we are headed for divorce.  That's REALLY expensive and I keep second guessing myself.  Part of me thinks, if this can't solve it, than it might finally give me the peace I know that I did everything I could to save my marriage.

Have you guys already done other couple's therapy? That sounds like it could be good if your partner is willing.

We’ve been to two different counselors. The one we have right now  is just terrible. If you read the link I provided In the first post about emotional abuse, the section that talks about how general therapists can screw it up describes our current counselor to a T.

That being said, just tonight she finds me not worthy of working on the marriage. So now she doesn’t want to go. I had a consultation with the doctor who runs the center we would go to. It really looks promising. He talked about his good success rate. It looks like a really good idea for anyone considering it.
