are there dbt skills groups for teens available online?  seems like i heard someone refer to it once but can't get a straight answer.  have even e-mail behavioral tech this ? and never gotten an answer.

our t is currently reading the 4 books recommended for the dbt online training for counselors.  i bought him the books and have already paid for half of the online training course per our arrangement.

the problem is that there are no BPD teen group therapy meetings in our area (we already travel an hour each way just for weekly t sessions) much less dbt skills group therapy meetings for teens.  the closest i have come is a BPD adult group (not dbt) which i think would be a complete disaster for my BPD13.

anyone have any suggestions or know of resources?

thanks

We have looked for teen support groups and have not had any luck in finding one.

For anyone interested in online resources, Wisemind has a valuable podcast.  I highly recommend it.  Click on the /message_board/index.php?topic=302408.0

We have a full  on-line CBT course that has helped many members.

My wife has BPD.

It has stolen our lives from us. We see resources all over the net-therapists and so on, but what about people like us -the poor with no health insurance. We would be willing to take buses to support groups if needed, but after weeks of searching I finally called NAMI who referred me to a support group coordinator, whom I called and called but never called me back.

It's gotten to a point where my wife has completely isolated herself. She frequently used to have 'episodes' with neighbors, friends and family (partially because she abuses alcohol sometimes when triggered). Now, with no other ideas, she's decided to just take herself out of the scene all together. There are times when she won't leave the house for weeks or months at a time.

She tells me she desperately wants her live back and is lonely and miserable for friends-but she trusts no one but me. She has been hurt so badly in the past by people-I won't go into details but her life has been nothing short of tragic in itself.

We are looking for groups-any free help or resources in the Coachella Valley California... or even lists of where support groups are, clinical trials-ANYTHING.

I hope we find help here.

Thank you.

Hi everyone,

I don't know if anyone here uses the dbtselfhelp.com website, but it seems to have disappeared.  It had some great content, but I went to look at something today and found only advertisements.  Has anyone heard what happened to the site?  Or when it might be back?

We have looked for teen support groups and have not had any luck in finding one.

We are getting Wonderful Support for our daughter through a local Ala-Teen.  Mom seems BPD.

That is part of the Family (Al-Anon) side of AA.

While Alcohol is considered the entry point -- covers drug, various other addictions and most of the crap that comes with BPD in the family.
