Last year I had a date for *that* day with someone other than exBPDbf, as he was, at that time, living with someone else.  It was a date most girls would have died for.  It started in the morning with a dozen roses delivered.  (BPD never sent roses)   Then there was a lovely card, candy, and a gift.  Next we went downtown, cruised the mall, had cocktails at Twigs, and then went to dinner at one of the nicest restaurants here.  Did I enjoy it?  Hell no.  Why?  Because, I had been in contact with BPD guy for the two weeks before and was pining away for him.        Yep, I broke up with the nice guy right after Valentines day so I could climb back on the crazy train.  OMG

Anyhoo ... .  the reason for this post is from time to time folks on here have mentioned meetup.com.  Having moved away from my friends and been isolated for years my social life is non-existent.  I had never heard of meetup.com or anything like it.  I had been trying the online dating thing and while there was a lot of interest, none of it was on my part.  I AM SOO not ready to date.  Turns out there are a lot of single people in the world that just want to meet new friends and have some fun. WOOHOO  I joined a group for 45+ singles and we are meeting tomorrow night for dinner and cocktails.  It's mostly women going and that's totally fine with me. I'm much more excited about this than any stupid date I tried to go on.   Smiling (click to insert in post)

Luckily I'm stuck working all day tomorrow so it's just another day to me. I've honestly been dreading this day and I'm sick of the advertisements. I was prepping myself for another huge depression crash. But it seems that was last week and with tomorrow steadily approaching I feel... .  fine surprisingly.

Great idea to bunch up and just have fun though. Was meet up easy to get in to? I tried browsing online things like that but quickly lost interest.

It was really easy.  I was surprised at how many different groups there are, especially in the area I'm in.  They have outdoor adventurer groups, singles groups, craft groups, sport groups.  Pretty much anything one might be interested in.  I'm just excited that it's NOT online dating.  There are groups that are just women, just men, or mixed.  It's really pretty cool.

I understand your losing interest.  If I had looked last month I probably would have done the same thing.  Glad I checked it out now though, wish I had done it on a previous break up.  Might have saved me from getting recycled this last time.  Maybe, anyway.
