Dad to my wolf pack

« on: September 26, 2013, 03:05:45 PM »

I had posted my initial story here: https://bpdfamily.com/message_board/index.php?topic=209816.new#new

She

sat with me and watched the movie Dark City last night. At the end, as she was getting ready to go out, I said, "that movie describes what is going on with us." She gave me a quizzical look (in truth, I had forgotten about the infidelity, but it was a minor plot point). After she got back, she said she was thinking about what I said and that she agreed with me. When she realized it, she laughed. A strange reaction... .I think the whole changing identities, not knowing who you really were, or what reality was, never seeing the daytime were an apt description. I saw the protagonist's role from a new POV in light of what has been going on: he awoke from the delusions and remained constant of what he was. He awakened into the persona that the Strangers (aliens) put into him, but once he awoke, that was who he was and who he chose to be, not the other horrible things that had made him do. After fighting The Strangers and winning, bringing water (life), and sunlight (needed to sustain growth of life), he set about remaking the city/world. He knew who he was, and it was time to let everyone figure out who there were from that point forward. In any case, I thought I'd share that (those of you who have seen the movie might be more apt to agree, perhaps). -Turkish
