These are the good days

[How to communicate after a contentious divorce...]

My mentor and friend faces perhaps his last season. I must soon leave on our last expected winter safari together. The days have suddenly grown short and preparations must be made for this much anticipated journey. I look forward to campfires in the chill of night and the smell of sage in the light of dawn and to the talk of men and the rare ever diminishing falconry life they have loved.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the members of BPD Family over this past year for listening to my heart with open hands of acceptance in the compassionate helping and assisting of myself in my personal sojourn through perhaps the most difficult period of my adult life. I never would have ever thought that I would experience something so difficult and arduous as this intense personal chapter of grief and acceptance and growing in this wondrous time of learning of my own human capabilities and limitations.

I want you all to recognize that in the knowing I was not alone in this journey has been a supreme comfort to me of which I am deeply eternally indebted. The sharing of this weight has been a delight and an honor. I wish you all well and good tidings in the future that awaits us all. Until I return I wish you all god speed in your finding safe harbor in the storms of this life.

I want to leave you with a quote of my favorite author;

"Each one of us here will at one time in our lives look upon a loved one who is in need and ask the same question: We are willing to help Lord, but what, if anything is needed? For it is true we can seldom help those closest to us. Either we don't know what part of ourselves to give or, more often than not, the part we have to give is not wanted. And so it is those we live with and should know who elude us. But we still love them-we can love completely without complete understanding".
