Are Our Relationships "Love Stories?"

Near the end, mine was all wrapped up in the "teenage romance/fairy tale" type of love, as a lot of BPDs seems to be. "Oh look, S3," pointing to something on tv, "I bet
they
are in love!" Not healthy, not mature, though I realize a certain part of that can be fun and fulfilling in a normal relationship.
Last week, when I told her I was writing a story, she got this happy look in her eyes and said, "A love story?" I know she would read it if I wrote one. I said, "no, my life story." She said, "oh," crestfallen.
I realized the other night that she is missing the obvious: that WE are in a "love story"
right now
. A tragic, freaking love story that not only involves us, but also our precious son and daughter. That is real, this is real life. Now.
I will get the chance to tell her this... .and I will. Let her take even 1% of it with her as she continues her tragic, dysfunctional life elsewhere.

Inability to love story,
Ha ha. I like that. Very true. I take some responsibility there, as well... .will spend a long time figuring my side out.

When I hear love songs that portray "dysfunctional" relationships as "true love"... .well it makes me want to smack someone.

I think it's easy to misinterpret what occurred as a "love story".
In reality, we were just falling in love with ourselves because of their mirroring.
