We are looking at one for DD right now based on the advice of her doctor and therapist, who both recommend this one.  She is 14 and wants to go.  However we have never gone this route before. One tends to hear so many horror stories about these places, even those recommended.  So what has been your experience?  And, if by chance anyone has had any experiences with La Amistad in central FL I would love to hear what you have to say about it!

Thanks!

We had a wonderful experience with Eliada Home of Children in Asheville, NC. If you want, you can PM me the state in which you live and I can give you the info for Elida.  I posted about Eliada on the RTC board with all the contact info if that's easier for you.  I know how difficult trying to find a place that will fit your criteria, but what was so impressive about Eliada, is that they actually acknowledge BPD is a legit dx in adolescents and teach DBT which is unheard of in an RTC.
