VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

From another thread someone suggested I post this here.

How do you help a child get out of triangulation?

My ex is classic NP and my D11 is being triangulated with his gf. D11 sees a T but I don't think her T truly gets his NP traits and what he is capable of. What can I read, research to help my daughter? It is getting worse. I think ex keeps D and GF at odds because they both compete for his attention.

The T that DD sees dad insisted she have a masters in pyschology, now in a converstaion about finding someone new he is stating the next person must be a doctorate in psychiatry. I asked him if he really knew the in depth differences between those and a Therapist. He really doesn't. Part of me thinks he wants her medicated, he tells her all the time how crazy she is and has her questioning everything she thinks and fees.

I know what the madness is like living with him, I don't want my daughter to be a victim to her dad.
