Hi All

Just wondering if BPD people still display the same behaviours if their new lovers are married.

I believe I read somewhere that the they tend to go for people who are already in relationships and thus cannot get too close.

Mine went after me when I was married and my therapist thinks that she does that because they don't have to worry about it getting too serious.

Well, my marriage fell apart and then we got together and now it's over and she's prob on to somebody else who's in a relationship.

good times.

Sid, my BPDexbf was indeed, shtupping a married woman when I met him. I will learn things in order someday, not in reverse, like I have with this mess.

Hi English Sid,

Good question. BPD is emotional arrested development, the person has not matured enough to have adult emotional intimacy. Emotional intimacy triggers push / pull behavior that can feel like crazy making behavior to the non disordered partner.

English Did

I was married when I got myself involved with my BPD. It destroyed my marriage as I willingly wanted to be found out. I was completely in love euphoria in the extended valuation phase. As soon as the divorce proceedings were well underway, I was devlued, then discarded. My wife would not reconsider and frankly I don't blame her. I had become a foolish A... Hole. As soon as the prospect of a stable and intimate relationship was on the horizon, my BPD was off on another mission to destroy another soul

I believe seductive maneuvers might get stronger because there is another ego satisfaction in being able to steal someone else's spouse. You feel superior to their spouse, too.

Thanks for the reply's everyone.

I agree with thisworld about their seduction techniques may be stronger because of an ego trip and the thought of being superior to someone else.
