Neat video. Spent some time reflecting after watching it. I'm not a regrets guy. I was raised to be deliberate and consider the big decisions in life and then go for it. I've made comments on other people threads praising what I saw as an "all in" move. That's the way I have lived my life. In my opinion a lot of people exist and let life go on around them. If it works for them, then great. I think that many people like that end up with regret.
I had the best time ever in high school. Great friends, great adventures. Even though I was at best a "fleet average" football player I played my heart out and was part of a team that got my high school into the state champ playoff for the first time ever in the high schools 20 some year history.
I was somewhat more serious and focused in college and in the office training pipeline. I had a dream of flying off aircraft carriers and I achieved that and lived that life for many years. Served with amazing patriotic people and accomplished incredible things.
I made and "all in" move to love 1 woman with all my heart and I'm a Dad to 8 wonderful children. While that marital relationship certainly looks challenging at the moment, nothing about that brings up regret.
As I've aged some my abilities are quite a bit lower (I'm disabled) than they were when I joined the service. It is, what it is. I don't regret it at all.
I like this post. Would encourage everyone to dream about their life and take a step towards those dreams, then take another, next thing you know, you will be there.
