Hi I am new on the site.  Not sure how to join the chat so I am replying.

I have a 17 year old daughter with BPD.  I am married and have a 14 year old daughter as well.  Like many of you we are barely hanging on.  I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a therapeutic boarding school or an inpatient program that has helped.   So glad I found you all!

Hi everyone,

So glad to have a group of people who know what this is like and have some experience dealing with this.

To this point I have just spoken with lots and lots of healthcare providers and family.

I have a 17 year old daughter with BPD and a husband and a 14 year old daughter as well.  We are struggling on a daily basis and reaching our wits end.  The abuse from our BPD is burying us.  Has anyone had any experience or heard of a good inpatient program or even a therapeutic boarding school that would help.

Hi Strugglingmama,

Welcome to the site and the parenting board, so glad you decided to join us and look for some help for your family.

It is so hard to know what to do or who to get help from for our kids.  What kind of treatment has your d17 had thus far?  Is she diagnosed with BPD or traits?

My d is now 19, we started looking for answers for her behaviors when she was 11.  She had over 2 years outpatient therapy that didn't seem to help much so we decided to go inpatient at Residential Treatment.  It was a huge benefit for our entire family.
