Being from a small town everyone knows every one. Yesterday I ran into my sis, she has a friend who is a local bartender for years. The bartender informs my sister " I saw your ex sister in law with her new BF". My sister really wasn't interested until the bartender friend told her that the new man in ex sister in laws life is a quote " piss tank and a bum with no where to live". She was stressing the drunk issue to my sister. I know for a fact new BF has no where to live, his wife left him and the house is gone, he was sleeping at his brothers. My sister did not know of his living arrangements so I'm inclined to feel there might be some truth in this statement. I've noticed lately s9 talks about beer a lot. I never ask questions to s9, his mom is none of my concern, he tells me she drills him so I hope he will tell me more. How do I approach s9 on this topic. S9 mother is very secretive she has a great deal of control over s9, she knows exactly how to place her words, she doesn't have to be physically abusive she knows how to inflict maximum damage with words.

If he talks about beer, I think it's not wrong to ask him a question or two. This isn't like he's talking about golf. BF possibly driving drunk is a real concern, though if he's drinking around your kid in general, there probably isn't something actionable or dangerous, as much as it may be annoying.
