Just after we get back in contact her brother died

Following on from post last week.

We had a good dinner together (at her invitation) and caught up on things after an 8 month period of almost complete NC.

She them drove to see me two nights ago and we again had really good interaction.

I was pretty happy with things so far and my aim was to keep things fun and nothing too heavy for the time being.

Yesterday morning her brother died in an accident. She called me for support and I was there for her obviously.

Now everything has become so complex... .

I don't even know the point of this post apart from talking to myself, where's the line between "rescuing" and being a decent human being, please?
