Just an observation. Male BPD/Female nons

As far as I understand, the vast majority of those who live with BPD tend to be female, but on boards such as this one, it seems many of the posts come from females who believe that their former or current boyfriends/husbands are BPD. There seems to be a disparity. Is it possible that the female nons are mistaking NPD for BPD?

You cannot discount the fact that women are far more likely to be vocal about their emotions and reach out for support with them.

I (male) was married to my BPD wife for 15 yrs thinking that *I* was the bad guy. Thinking that my life was "normal". Accepting that when she told me I did something inconsiderate to her that she was telling the truth.
That is the dynamic that society has told us is normal. TV shows like "Everybody loves Raymond", "Malcolm in the Middle", and others depict the female-in-charge, husband-toes-the-line marriage. And typical marriage jokes are around "saying sorry for whatever I did even if I have no idea".
So I understand there are probably many men out there with their BPD wives having NO IDEA that it's not normal.
