I probably should have come here a very long time ago, but here I am now. I have a beautiful 24 year old BPD daughter who has two little boys both toddlers and they are living with me. I am seeking support from others who are dealing with similar situations or who have any advice at all. I guess I am needing validation due to the fact that others in the family refuse to believe this is the case and think if they don't know about BPD then it doesn't exist. My Daughter has daily ups and downs and can be quite abusive at times, but I have learned through educating myself on this illness how to set boundaries with empathy but could use more tools to help navigate through. I experiencing burn out at the moment.

Hi bcuzicare,

Welcome

It's better late than never. I'd like to welcome you to  bpdfamily. I can relate your post, I told my sister that my exuBPDw has BPD and she aske if she was diagnosed and I replied no she's not diagnosed and her was how is it possible that she's mentally ill?

One thing that I really appreciate at  bpdfamily is that we all speak the same language and I don't have to explain the BPD behaviors in real life.

Is your D24 diagnosed? How's the r/s with the children's father? I'm sorry to hear that your feeling run down, I can relate with that too, what do you for self care?

What does it mean to take care of yourself?  (Read 29224 times)?

I'm glad that you decided to join us, you're not alone.

PS The lessons are to the right side of the board  Smiling (click to insert in post)
