Hi
Just visited my elderly brother in a different state and he exploded and screamed at me for childhood wrongs. I was so shocked I just sat and said wow I’m sorry because he has a gun in the house. I did get back home eventually but I am still in a fog with hurt feelings and don’t really know what to do to snap out of it and get on with my life. I’m just tired and depressed. Yes I have a therapist but I thought maybe a support group could help.

It's understandable that you feel badly after being yelled at. You did the right thing to apologize and leave quickly, for your own safety.
Is this new behavior for your brother? Is he prone to violence. If you are concerned about your safety- good idea to keep a distance from him.
Your safety and emotional well being are your primary concern. If your brother's behavior seems worse or different, he may need to be evaluated for dementia or other issues. Even an infection can cause elderly people to act disoriented. If you are concerned he may be a danger to himself or others, you can call 911.

Hi
... he exploded and screamed at me ... I’m sorry because he has a gun in the house.
So sorry you're having to deal with this, but safeguard yourself sounds like a good place to start. I'd speak with your therapist about this, they'll understand safeguarding. Does he have a diagnosis ? Is there any reason you can't deal with him on the phone currently ?
